Pottery in antiquity

Ages: 6-12 years. Workshop adaptable to each age bracket.

Workshop duration: about 1 hour.

Since the invention of the first ceramic objects around 4000 BC, in the Neolithic, both the tech-niques and the uses and forms used have greatly evolved.

In this workshop, students will be able to see the oldest techniques used for the elaboration of pottery.

The activity will have a theoretical part where participants will be able to see and manipulate pottery from different periods (Roman, Medieval, Modern), also explaining some of the main differences between them. A small ritual burner of incense, a Venus, a small Neolithic glass... are some of the objects that we can create, decorate and take home as a souvenir.
